Naina Devi Temple :

Naina Devi temple is dedicated to goddess Naina Devi. The famous lake of Nainital is said to be the eyes of Sati, wife of Lord Shiva. It is believed that Sati jumped into the sacrificial bonfire. Lord Shiva to mourn the death of his beloved wife carried the body across the country. The remains of her body fell at various places which today are sacred worship places for the Hindus .
Hanuman Garhi :
This temple is a complex presiding deity being Lord Hanuman besides Ram and Shiva. It is around 3.5 Kms away from main market at an altitude of 1951 meter. Hanuman Garhi is a religious centre and famous for its sun set view.
Naina Peak :
Naina peak is the highest peak of the town located at a distance of 6 kms from main town at an altitude of 2611 meter. Naina Peak surrounded by Himalayas from Bandar Punch in west to Api and Nari peaks of Nepal in the east by offering an entrancing view of sparkling snow.
Kilbury :
Kilbury located about 10 kms away from the town at an altitude of 2194 meter. There is a forest rest house for night stay. Kilbury is known as ideal spot for a quiet and peaceful moments . Kilburi gives a very good view of the Himalayas with green forests. Kilburi takes you into the laps of nature from rush of the cities.
How to reach Nainital
By Air: The nearest airport from Nainital is Pantnagar (70kms) with direct flights from Delhi. But Delhi and Lucknow are more convenient airports for reaching Nainital since none of these places are too far from Nainital and are well connected with the rest of India.
By Rail: It is quite convenient to reach Nainital by rail. Kathgodam (35kms) is the nearest railhead from Nainital. A well laid network of broad gauge railway links Nainital to Delhi, Kolkata and Dehradun.
By Road: An extensive network of roads connect Nainital with prominent cities in Uttaranchal and other north Indian cities. You can reach Nainital by road from Delhi (310kms), Haldwani (40kms), Dehradun (300kms).
