Jugal Kisore Temple : it is also one of the most beautiful temples in Vrindavan. This temple was developed by Emperor Akbar in 1570 and made up of red sandstone .The ghat along with this temple is one of the most famous bathing places in Vrindavan. According to popular legend, Kesi demon was killed by Lord Krishna over here. The demon had appeared in the form of a gigantic horse, in fact it is after this demon that the ghat is also named. The story goes that after killing him, Lord Krishna took a bath in this ghat. Therefore the temple is also sometimes referred to as the Kesi Ghata Temple .
Gobind Temple : Govind Dev Temple is one of the most famous Holy places in Varindaban which is constructed by Raja Man Singh in 1590. It is located 90 kilometers from Delhi and only 15 kilometers from Mathura. This temple is attracts a large number of tourists during the festivals of Janmashthami, and Holi . The temple is a specimen of advanced archeology.
Seva Kunj and Nidhuban : This place is located 90 miles from Delhi in Mathura district it is one of the most important Hindu pilgrim points. Seva Kunj and Nidhuban is one of the most frequented places in Vrindavan. Lord Krishna performed Raslila with Radha here. This place acted as their getaway from the din and bustle of everyday life. Dancing with gopis and answering the many and whims of his lover Radha was his favorite pastime.
Shahji Temple: Shahji temple is one of the best known Holy Places in Vrindavan. The temple is unique in its own way and has gained a lot of popularity due to its magnificent construction. The temple has been dedicated to Radha-Krishna. Shahji Temple has been constructed by the wealthy merchant by the name Shah Kundan Lal of Lukhnow. This was done in the year 1876. It is one of the most important Tourist Attractions in Vrindavan.
Mathura : Mathura pronunciation is a holy city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is located approximately 50 km north of Agra, and 150 km south of Delhi; about twenty miles from holy Vrindavana. Mathura is reputed to be the birthplace of Krishna at the centre of Vraja, called Krishnajanmabhoomi or 'Krishna's birth place'. Mathura is also famous as one of the first two centres of production for images of the Buddha. According to Mahabharata ,The Keshav Dev temple was built in ancient times on the site of Krishna's birthplace .In the period of Kansa the maternal uncle of Krishna, Mathura was the capital of the Surasena Kingdom.
How to reach Varindavan
By Air: The nearest airport is Kheria (Agra), which is about 62 km away. Delhi airport is 155 km away.
By Rail: Mathura is on the main lines of both the Cental and Western Railways, and is connected with most of the important cities such as Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, Jaipur, Gwalior, Kolkata...etc. The city's main railway station is just 4 km from the old city.
By Road: Mathura is connected to all major cities via the National Highways. Regular Bus service is available to Mathura-Vrindavan from Delhi, Jaipur, Agra and other neighbouring cities.
Mathura has two bus stands. The Old Bus stand located near the City Gate has buses going to Agra and Govardhan. The New Bus Stand has buses going to Delhi, Jaipur, Bharatpur and Deeg.
