Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary:

It is located in Canacona Taluka, in the south of Goa. It built in 1969, the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the south towards Panaji at a distance of 60 km. This Sanctuary filled up with moist-deciduous type greenery , semi-evergreen and evergreen patches.The Cotigao Sanctuary got its designation as a reserve since 1969, spread over an area of 86 sq. km.The Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary famous for its wealth of verdant forests and luxuriant green canopy. The sparse animal population enclosed with Gazelles, Porcupines, Sloth Bears, Wild Boars,anthers, Hyenas , Indian Bisons, rufous woodpeckers, white-eyed eagles and the Malabar crested eagle.
Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary:
The sanctuary consists a Botanical Garden, fenced Deer Park and Zoo with reasonably spacious enclosures, is a most beautiful sanctuary . It is the smallest Wildlife Sanctuaries of Goa covering an area of is 8 sq.kms. It is more wonderful place for outing out of four major sanctuaries in this area. It is an ideal jungle resort and a major attraction for nature lovers. Bondla houses approximetly hundred bird species, orphaned animals and large species of deer. Elephant riding is a major attraction here. Monkeys, Wild Boar, Deer, Gaur, Langurs, Jackals, Pythons and Leopards are more famous in the southeast. Bondla is also another bird-watching haven like its counter parts at Chorao and Cotigao. The major animals that inhabit the sanctuary are the Gaur and the Sambhar deer. It is a famous tourist attraction for school picnics . It is open for whole of the week except Thursdays.
